Dorado Beach nature trails are a walkable, open-air sanctuary from land to sea. Originally conceived by Laurance Rockefeller in the 1950s our nature trails offer the opportunity for self-guided eco tours to reconnect with nature and explore Dorado Beach’s natural wonders. Wind through forests, past fairways and along the soft beaches and secret coves on foot, by bicycle or with a golf cart. Along the way, enjoy the sights of the exotic birds and diverse wildlife.
Spanning 4 miles, the Blue Trail brings you all the way from the Clubhouse to East Beach. Take a pit stop at Barlovento Beach Bar & Grill before or after you enjoy mother nature at her finest as you venture through the outskirts of Pterocarpus Forest.
The shorter of the two trails (1.8 miles), the Green Trail takes you on a botanical journey where you’ll encounter exotic plant life, and perhaps catch a glimpse of the elusive Coqui.
Guided by a knowledgeable on-site naturalist, Eco Adventures invite people of all ages to explore the natural treasures found right here at Dorado Beach. Participants will learn about various science topics including terrestrial ecology, marine biology, and habitat restoration all in the best classroom: nature! From birdwatching to tide-pooling to snorkeling, discover the fascinating world of all the non-humans who call Dorado Beach home.
